Exclusive New Moon Video Footage on MSN Movies
Take a virtual Twilight tour using Silverlight & Bing Maps to see favorite spots from the movie
If you’ve read the Twilight series, you’d probably agree that it’s hard to wait for the next movie to hit the box office! It’s exciting to grab your seat in front of the big screen and watch Edward running through the forest with Bella, Jacob transforming into a werewolf, and Alice throwing Bella a birthday party. The magic of the movies brings a great book to life, while the technology of Bing & MSN brings Forks, Washington directly to Twilight fans around the world through our Virtual Twilight Tour.
At MSN, we’re so excited for the opening of New Moon on November 20th that we took a trip out to Forks to see where all the excitement happens. And since we didn’t want to keep this experience all to ourselves, we brought our video cameras and created an exclusive Virtual Twilight Tour to give Twilight fans an interactive experience. This is one more way that we’re bringing our customers original content in Entertainment.
Forks isn’t too far from Redmond, and with this Silverlight experience using Bing Maps, Forks isn’t far from you either, no matter where you are. The exclusive Twilight video tour brings Forks, La Push, Port Angeles, and Volterra right to your computer so that you can see 16 of Twilight’s and New Moon’s most exciting locations, such as the Cullen house, Fork’s Police Station, Fork’s Hospital, Bella Italia, the dress shop, the book store, and the high school, where you can also take a virtual tour. Just scroll over the Bing Map for location-based navigation and check out the Bing searches in the mix. There’s one part in the Twilight book where Bella looks up the word ‘vampire’ using her “favorite search engine" and then hits the bookstore in Port Angeles. Try it yourself on the virtual tour and see what happens. ** Spoiler alert below!
In addition to the interactive map, you can check out some other exciting features while you’re on the tour. In Land of Legends, learn about werewolf and vampire mythology in the Olympic peninsula from two of the characters themselves: 1) Bad-boy wolf Paul, played by Alex Meraz, and 2) Superbad Volturi vampire Caius, played by Jamie Campbell Bower. Also, celebrate Bella’s birthday at Stephanie Meyers Day, complete with a Twilight look-alike contest. While you’re here, find out how to “look like a Cullen” and see how the city of Forks, Washington has transformed into a "Twihard" haven.
And don’t forget that true fans check out our Twilight Superfans page.
