It’s October and football season ‘09 is underway. Fantasy leagues are in full swing, NFL game tickets are sold out, trash talking has begun, and Brett Favre is back - again! Men, women, and children across the country are cheering on their teams and waiting anxiously to see who will take home a Super Bowl ring.

With college and NFL team loyalties, you can spend a lot of time on the couch between now and February 7, 2010, when Super Bowl XLIV kicks off at Dolphin Stadium. There’s football on Thursday night, Monday night, all day Saturday, and of course you can’t miss Faith Hill ringing in Sunday Night Football. It’s amazing that anyone’s getting out of the house.

Well now you can, without feeling like you’re abandoning your team. MSN Mobile recently launched a new, highly interactive experience for FOX Sports mobile that NFL and college football fans will appreciate. The features include Sports Ticker, Top Stories Slideshow, Football Scoreboard, Football GameTrax, My Teams, Team Home Page, and Player Search.

Here's a closer look:

The Sports Ticker can help you stay up-to-date on all the current games. Scores and stats update automatically so that you can follow and cheer on your favorite teams no matter where you are.

With headlines and photos automatically cycling on the page, you will never be out of the loop. At a glance, you can scan the Tops Stories Slideshow to find out what's newsworthy in sports.

The Football Scoreboard gives you an overview of team scores and schedules for both the NFL and college football. You can even follow in-progress games without reloading the page.

Follow live games with Football GameTrax. It's cool because you can view current game stats and ball position as the game progresses, while simultaneously checking on other games through Sports Ticker without leaving the page.

My Teams lets you view current news for all your favorite teams and quickly access your team's home page.

Find complete information for any NFL or college football team, including news, scores, schedules, standings, stats, injuries and transactions on the Team home page. See a snapshot of recent and upcoming games. Check out division standings. Capture team news headlines.

If you have a Fantasy Football team, the Player Search may very well be your new best friend. Don't know if your football player is still on the injury list? Use Player Search to quickly find player news and information on Bing mobile.

These new features can be accessed by going to http://sports.mobile.msn.com on a range of mobile devices, such as: G1, Palm Pre, iPhone, Nokia 5800, Nokia N97, a Windows 6.5 pre-release device. If you don't have a mobile device, your desktop browser also works! And if you're also a Major League Baseball fan following the playoffs, you can also stay updated on baseball scores.

May the best team win,

David Raissipour
